Only a few hundred kilograms exist worldwide each year. The greater part never reaches the open market.
Within Grande Rarité, the exceptional crystals are presented in their most original form: large, unbroken and possessing a fascinating natural presence. Their scale reveals the refraction of light, clarity and rare blue and violet nuances with particular intensity. No other product in our collection displays the beauty of Persian Blue Salt as directly or dramatically as these crystal pieces.
At approximately 3–6 cm, they reveal the natural interplay of colour more impressively than any grain size. Depending on the light, the crystals range from crystal clear through petrol and sapphire blue to deep royal blue or intense amethyst violet. Some bear fine marbling or angular markings within them; others appear almost like cut glass. No two crystals are alike.
Grande Rarité is the most uncompromising selection produced by our atelier. From all the Persian Blue Salt that reaches us, we choose only those crystals distinguished by exceptional clarity, transparency, depth of colour and expression. Every individual crystal is selected, examined and assessed by hand in our Swiss atelier. It is then carefully broken by hand and meticulously sorted by size, creating the different grain sizes within the Grande Rarité line. The process is slow, exacting and uncompromisingly honest. The resulting quantities are small. The resulting quality is exceptional.
The crystal format is not intended for direct finishing. Ideally, the crystals are crushed by hand in a high-quality mortar before use.
