Gilder’s Tip – 2″
Gilder’s Tip – 2″
Lift gold leaf safely. Place it with precision.
Loose gold and silver leaf are wafer-thin, exceptionally light and sensitive to the slightest movement of air. A gilder’s tip provides the control required for this delicate stage of application.
Light friction creates an electrostatic charge in the brush, allowing loose leaf to be lifted gently, carried and positioned without pressure or direct handling. It is a small specialist tool that makes working with precious-metal leaf markedly more controlled.
For Loose Gold and Silver Leaf
The gilder’s tip is designed for whole loose leaves, smaller sections and delicate fragments. It is suited to pâtisserie, chocolaterie, professional kitchens and refined decorative work at home.
Application
Lightly draw the dry brush across a clean cloth or the forearm to create a static charge. Bring it carefully towards the gold or silver leaf; the leaf will be attracted to the brush and can then be guided to the desired surface. Lower it gently onto the application area. Precious-metal leaf adheres particularly well to slightly moist, creamy or fat-based surfaces. Work in a calm environment free from draughts.
